As a millennial, I am part of the first generation of women that was given equal opportunity in the corporate workplace. I was thriving in my career until I had my first child.

I returned to work carrying the majority of the physical and mental load of our home and family life. I felt like I was failing in my role in the workplace and as a mother. I did not have a Life-Work Balance

I lost our second baby, Naoise, when I was 5 months pregnant. After giving birth, I went back to work too soon and burnt out. I walked away from the job to take time to heal from the trauma. Soon after, I became pregnant with our third baby, Oisín.

During my pregnancy, I trained as a coach and set up FRAZZLE with the ‘How to Run Your Home Like a Business’ framework. Life-Work Balance became my purpose in life. By implementing the framework – I learned what Life-Work Balance is and how to achieve it. It is different for everyone.

My Life-Work Balance vision is to be present at work and at home to achieve optimal performance in both roles. This keeps me focused on what I want to achieve by outlining priorities and creating boundaries.

Building a permission mindset to make changes by building and breaking habits is critical. I created strategies and systems to manage the physical and mental load of home and family life. The metric of success is time. I learned how to be happy by making room for self-care and being present.

Life-Work Balance is a fitness – you decide how far you want to take it. The hardest part is starting. I work with clients to build the vision, permission mindset and plan to get there by creating strategies and systems to make room for self-care.
